Terms of Use and Referral Disclaimer

Last updated: March 2026

Plain-English Summary

Northshore Home Insurance is a free referral matching service. We connect homeowners with licensed, independent insurance agents. We are not an insurance company, we do not sell insurance, and we do not give insurance advice. The agents you hear from are independent professionals, not our employees or representatives. We have no control over what they quote you, whether you qualify for coverage, or how any claim is handled. Submitting the form creates no obligation of any kind. You are free to accept, decline, or ignore any agent contact, and free to shop with any other service at the same time. You are solely responsible for evaluating any agent and any policy before you buy. By submitting the form, you consent to being contacted by agents via phone (including automated calls), text, and email. You can opt out at any time by telling the agent directly.

1. Nature of the Service and Regulatory Status

Northshore Home Insurance ("we," "us," "our," or "the Service") operates northshorehomeinsurance.com as an online referral and lead-matching service only. Our sole function is to receive information submitted voluntarily by homeowners through this website and to transmit that information to one or more licensed, independent insurance agents who have agreed to participate in our referral network for the purpose of providing homeowners with insurance quotes.

Northshore Home Insurance is not an insurance company, an insurance agency, a managing general agent, a surplus lines broker, or a licensed insurance agent or producer under the laws of Louisiana or any other jurisdiction. Northshore Home Insurance does not sell, solicit, negotiate, bind, issue, deliver, execute, or underwrite any insurance policy or contract of insurance. Northshore Home Insurance does not collect premiums. Nothing on this website, in any communication from us, or in the referral process constitutes insurance advice, a recommendation to purchase any specific insurance product, an evaluation of any coverage, or an offer to sell insurance.

This Service operates solely as a referral intermediary and is not required to hold an insurance producer license in Louisiana solely by virtue of receiving and transmitting homeowner lead information to licensed agents. Any insurance solicitation, negotiation, or sale that occurs as a result of a referral is conducted exclusively by the licensed agent, not by Northshore Home Insurance.

No agency relationship is created between you and Northshore Home Insurance. By submitting a form or using this website, you do not become a client, customer, or principal of Northshore Home Insurance for any purpose. No fiduciary duty, duty of care, duty to advise, or duty to monitor arises between you and Northshore Home Insurance at any time.

2. Independent Contractor Status of Agents; No Agency Relationship

The insurance agents and producers who participate in our referral network are independent, licensed professionals operating their own separate businesses. They are not employees, servants, agents, legal representatives, partners, joint venturers, or affiliates of Northshore Home Insurance for any purpose whatsoever. Nothing in these Terms, in the referral process, or in any course of dealing between Northshore Home Insurance and any agent shall be construed to create an employment relationship, agency relationship, joint venture, partnership, or any other legal relationship between Northshore Home Insurance and any agent.

Northshore Home Insurance exercises no right of control over any agent with respect to: the manner or method by which they conduct their business; the quotes, rates, or coverage terms they offer; the carriers or products they recommend; the frequency or content of their communications with you; their hiring, training, or supervision of their own staff; or any other aspect of their professional practice. Each agent sets their own prices, makes their own underwriting and business decisions, and is solely responsible for their own conduct and the accuracy of any information they provide to you.

Northshore Home Insurance makes no representations or warranties of any kind, express or implied, regarding any agent's qualifications, licensure status, professional conduct, financial solvency, errors-and-omissions insurance coverage, responsiveness, availability, or the accuracy, completeness, or competitiveness of any quote or coverage offer they may provide. You are strongly encouraged to independently verify any agent's license status through the Louisiana Department of Insurance (LDI) at ldi.la.gov before transacting any business with them.

Any complaint, claim, or dispute arising from an agent's conduct, a quote they provided, a policy they sold, or a claim that is denied or disputed must be directed to the agent, the insurance carrier, and/or the Louisiana Department of Insurance. Northshore Home Insurance is not a proper party to any such dispute and accepts no responsibility or liability in connection with it.

3. No Guarantee of Coverage, Availability, or Savings

Northshore Home Insurance makes no guarantee, representation, or warranty that submitting a quote request will result in any quote being offered, any policy being issued, any specific premium rate, or any savings compared to your current coverage. The Louisiana homeowners insurance market is subject to rapid and unpredictable change. Coverage availability, eligibility, and pricing are determined solely by the participating agents and their carrier partners based on underwriting criteria that are outside Northshore Home Insurance's knowledge or control, including but not limited to your property's location, age, construction type, roof condition, claims history, credit factors, flood zone designation, and current carrier market appetite.

Northshore Home Insurance does not evaluate, endorse, or guarantee the accuracy of any quote, rate, term, or coverage description provided by any agent. You should independently verify all coverage terms, exclusions, and conditions with the agent and the issuing carrier before purchasing any policy.

4. No Obligation; Your Absolute Right to Decline

Submitting a quote request through this website creates no contract, no commitment, and no obligation of any kind on your part. You are not required to speak with any agent, respond to any contact, accept any quote, or purchase any policy as a result of using this Service.

You retain the following absolute rights at all times:

  • The right to decline or ignore contact from any agent at any time, for any reason or no reason;
  • The right to decline any quote or policy offer at any time, for any reason or no reason;
  • The right to purchase homeowners insurance from any source of your choosing, including agents, agencies, carriers, or services entirely unrelated to Northshore Home Insurance;
  • The right to use other insurance referral services, comparison websites, or agents simultaneously with or at any time after using this Service;
  • The right to terminate any communications with any agent at any time simply by notifying them that you no longer wish to be contacted.

There is no charge to homeowners for using this Service. Your use of this Service does not create any exclusive relationship with Northshore Home Insurance, any agent in the network, or any carrier.

5. Consent to Contact; TCPA Disclosure

By submitting a quote request form on this website, you expressly consent to Northshore Home Insurance sharing your name, phone number(s), email address, property address, and insurance-related information you provide with one or more licensed insurance agents in our referral network for the purpose of delivering homeowners insurance quotes to you.

You further expressly consent to being contacted by those agents using the contact information you provided, including by:

  • Telephone calls, including calls placed using an automatic telephone dialing system (autodialer) or an artificial or pre-recorded voice;
  • Text messages (SMS and MMS), including messages sent via automated systems;
  • Email communications;
  • Direct mail.

This consent is not a condition of purchasing any insurance product or service. You may withhold or revoke this consent without affecting your eligibility to receive insurance quotes through other means.

To opt out of further contact from a specific agent, notify that agent directly by any of the following methods: (a) replying "STOP" to any text message from that agent; (b) stating clearly during any phone call that you do not wish to receive further calls; or (c) sending a written opt-out request to that agent via email or mail. Northshore Home Insurance does not manage individual agent contact lists and cannot process opt-out requests on an agent's behalf. If you have a complaint about agent contact practices, you may file a complaint with the Louisiana Department of Insurance.

Northshore Home Insurance does not sell, rent, license, or otherwise disclose your personal information to national data brokers, lead aggregators unrelated to homeowners insurance in your area, or any third party whose purpose is unrelated to providing you with homeowners insurance quotes.

6. Accuracy of User Submissions; User Representations

By submitting a quote request, you represent and warrant that: (a) all information you provide is true, accurate, current, and complete to the best of your knowledge; (b) you are the owner or authorized representative of the property described in your submission; (c) you are at least 18 years of age; and (d) you have the legal authority to submit the information provided and to consent to the terms set forth herein.

You acknowledge that the accuracy and completeness of any insurance quote you receive depends materially on the accuracy of the information you provide. Northshore Home Insurance bears no responsibility for any inaccuracy in any quote that results, in whole or in part, from inaccurate, incomplete, or misleading information you submitted. You agree that submitting false or materially inaccurate information may expose you to legal liability, including liability to agents who incur costs based on your submission.

7. Limitation of Liability

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, NORTHSHORE HOME INSURANCE, ITS OWNERS, OFFICERS, EMPLOYEES, CONTRACTORS, AND AFFILIATES (COLLECTIVELY, "RELEASED PARTIES") SHALL NOT BE LIABLE TO YOU OR ANY THIRD PARTY FOR ANY DAMAGES OF ANY KIND ARISING FROM OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF THIS WEBSITE OR THE REFERRAL SERVICE, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO:

  • Any act, omission, misrepresentation, negligence, or misconduct of any insurance agent you are connected with through this Service;
  • Any insurance policy you purchase or fail to purchase as a result of a referral, including any claim denial, coverage gap, rescission, or cancellation;
  • Any loss, damage, injury, or expense you suffer as a result of relying on information provided by an agent or carrier;
  • Any inaccuracy, incompleteness, or error in any quote, rate, coverage description, or policy document provided by an agent or carrier;
  • Any delay, failure, interruption, or unavailability of this website or the referral process;
  • Any unauthorized access to or use of your submitted information beyond our control;
  • Any direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, special, exemplary, or punitive damages of any kind.

THIS LIMITATION APPLIES REGARDLESS OF THE LEGAL THEORY ASSERTED (CONTRACT, TORT, STRICT LIABILITY, STATUTE, OR OTHERWISE) AND REGARDLESS OF WHETHER THE RELEASED PARTIES HAVE BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES. THIS LIMITATION APPLIES TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LOUISIANA LAW AND SHALL NOT BE AFFECTED BY THE FAILURE OF ANY ESSENTIAL PURPOSE OF ANY LIMITED REMEDY.

The Released Parties' total aggregate liability to you for any and all claims arising from or related to your use of this Service shall not exceed zero dollars ($0.00), reflecting the fact that this Service is provided to homeowners at no charge.

8. Indemnification

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Northshore Home Insurance and its owners, officers, employees, contractors, and affiliates from and against any and all claims, demands, actions, losses, liabilities, damages, costs, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) asserted by any third party and arising out of or related to:

  • Any false, inaccurate, incomplete, or misleading information you submitted through this website;
  • Your interactions, transactions, or disputes with any insurance agent you were connected with through this Service;
  • Your violation of any provision of these Terms of Use;
  • Your violation of any applicable law, regulation, or third-party right in connection with your use of this Service.

Northshore Home Insurance reserves the right to assume exclusive control of the defense of any matter subject to indemnification by you, at your expense. You agree to cooperate with our defense of any such claim and not to settle any such matter without our prior written consent.

9. Disclaimer of Warranties

THIS WEBSITE AND THE REFERRAL SERVICE ARE PROVIDED ON AN "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" BASIS WITHOUT ANY WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, THE RELEASED PARTIES EXPRESSLY DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES, INCLUDING ANY IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. NORTHSHORE HOME INSURANCE DOES NOT WARRANT THAT THIS WEBSITE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, SECURE, OR FREE OF VIRUSES OR OTHER HARMFUL COMPONENTS. NO ORAL OR WRITTEN STATEMENT BY NORTHSHORE HOME INSURANCE OR ANY OF ITS REPRESENTATIVES SHALL CREATE ANY WARRANTY NOT EXPRESSLY SET FORTH IN THESE TERMS.

10. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution

These Terms of Use are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Louisiana, without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles. You agree that any dispute, claim, or controversy arising out of or relating to these Terms or your use of this Service shall be subject to the exclusive personal jurisdiction and venue of the state and federal courts located in St. Tammany Parish, Louisiana, and you waive any objection to such jurisdiction or venue.

Any cause of action you may have arising out of or relating to your use of this Service must be commenced within one (1) year after the cause of action accrues. After that period, any such cause of action is permanently barred, regardless of any applicable statute of limitations that would otherwise apply.

11. Severability

If any provision of these Terms of Use is held by a court of competent jurisdiction to be invalid, illegal, or unenforceable, that provision shall be modified to the minimum extent necessary to make it enforceable, or if modification is not possible, severed from these Terms. The remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect. The invalidity or unenforceability of any provision shall not affect the validity or enforceability of any other provision.

12. Changes to These Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms of Use at any time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. If you use this website or submit a quote request after a revision is posted, you are deemed to have read, understood, and accepted the updated Terms. If you do not agree with any revision, your sole remedy is to discontinue use of this website and Service.
